Put on a performance. Let’s take a look at your favorite band/singer. When you see them perform on any stage they always have a routine. If you’re Britney Spears, your dancing. If you’re Whitney Houston, you’re owning the crowd with your facial expressions, hand gestures, and awesome vocal runs. Put together a routine for the song you’ll be singing. Don’t forget, you should wear outfits that go with your style and brand of music.

Know your lyrics. Not once will you see any professional performer reading their lyrics off of a screen. It is very helpful that you know your lyrics to any song you attempt to sing. It will give you a much better chance of winning the crowd over and looking professional.

Get the crowd involved. Whenever you get a chance to involve the crowd, you need to take advantage of it. Walk through the venue while you’re singing. Make eye contact with them. Ask them to clap their hands, sing the chorus out loud, the ideas are endless. The more they love your performance and talent to sing, the more people will vote for you.

Invite Everyone You know. It’s a must do in almost any type of competition! You can’t expect to initially become a winner/star without letting everyone you know to support you during the voting rounds done by ballot count. Rarely has someone succeeded without first having people they know support them. Until you reach the Quarter/Semi Finals, which will be judged by industry professionals/legends, you need the crowd to vote for you. The President’s of the United States were believed in initially by a smaller crowd. They worked hard and earned the public’s vote by ballot count to become President.
